Whether you need a unique team building exercise or are looking forward to a night with your best friends, we lead you step by step through the process of making something beautiful.
Mary Tighe, owner of the Art on the Fly, understands that you may feel intimidated when attempting your first painting. But this bookkeeper-turned-painter is quick to reassure her clients and make them feel comfortable with a paintbrush in their hands. Surprisingly, she herself is not a trained artist. In fact, she painted her first piece just a few years ago.
I am not your average artist. In fact, until a few years ago, I never held a paintbrush. But now I love helping people of all skill levels to embrace their creative side, while having a lot of fun! Art on the Fly is a company dedicated to socializing, learning, laughing and creating beautiful art. I live in Lakewood Ranch with my husband, but travel to clients from Tampa to Fort Myers.
Mary enjoys the personal aspect of bringing the party to her clients, and she is perfectly suited for it – offering a quick smile and easy demeanor that puts people at ease immediately. She loves the interaction, and her events are often marked by lots of laughter. Mary leads every session, taking everyone through each personal masterpiece step by step.
Along with her sentimental original piece, Mary points to Sunset Summer Sky as one of her all-time favorite painting projects. But it is the people she meets who give this artist her inspiration. According to Mary, “When you paint, the stress melts away. I see people smiling, happy, and not worrying about anything for a while. I love being a part of that.”
We look forward to painting and crafting with you, but we realize life happens.
We recommend six years old because that is the age most kids have the attention span to sit and follow directions, but we have had some four and 5-year-olds blow our minds with their outstanding painting skills!
Although we appreciate tips in monetary form, we also LOVE tips in the form of reviews on our Facebook page, referrals, or sharing our business card with your friends.
Typically for paint party events, we require 24-hour notice before the event of any cancellations. Art Bar events are a little trickier as there is a product involved that might not be able to be returned.
It’s as wonderful of an experience for someone who has never used a paintbrush as it is for someone who paints like Van Gogh! You can paint; we will guide you and open the artistic talent within you. We bring all of the supplies, including floor and table coverings, and take care of ALL setup and clean-up for all events. You provide the space (including tables and chairs) and refreshments for your guests, and we bring the fun!
